The problem
An architecture studio needs more than a gallery: visitors should be able to explore a space and understand how material choices change it. The available assets were fixed-camera renders, not a complete real-time 3D model.
I built the website and its interactive configurator around those constraints. The architectural renders are the studio's work; my contribution is the software, image-layer preparation and interaction design.
Build the right level of interaction
Compose existing assets
The configurator uses aligned image layers and SVG masks for individual surfaces. Camera differences in the dining-room sources required perspective alignment. Foreground masks preserve objects such as mirrors, plants and furniture.
This is a fixed-camera 2D simulation. It changes visible materials without recalculating lighting or reflections. That tradeoff makes the supplied renders usable without requiring a new 3D production pipeline.
Share behavior, isolate state
The TV room, dining room and lounge use the same controller. Selections are kept independently when visitors switch rooms. They can compare with the original and reset the selected room.
Handle loading as a product behavior
Additional room assets load on demand. Pending requests are isolated; if a room fails to load, the previous one stays visible and the visitor can retry. This behavior is part of the interaction, not just an implementation detail.
Verify what the visitor sees
The project documents 32 passing browser checks for the three-room configurator, covering navigation, independent state, reset, original-view comparison, keyboard interaction and load failures on desktop and mobile.
Visual checks inspect material-mask edges and preservation of foreground objects. The site also integrates a 360° tour and contact forms. No conversion lift or business-impact measurement has been collected.
From local validation to publication
The project is still in progress, with no public demo or source repository. Production publication and global form rate limiting remain pending. The preview in this portfolio is an image from the configurator, not a claim that the studio's website is live.
